US Grand Prix F1 Forecast: Warm Temperatures for Austin Race Weekend

The 2024 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix will take place over 56 laps at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. This prominent racing venue is noted for its tough 5.513-kilometer track, which includes a mix of corners inspired by classic circuits across the world. 

The weather has a significant impact on Formula One, impacting everything from tire selection and car setup to race strategy and driver performance.

Generally, sunny intervals are expected for the first practice session in Austin, which begins at 12:30 pm CDT.

There is a 10% chance of rain, and temperatures will reach 25°C as the session progresses. Temperatures will peak at 28°C during sprint qualifying, with winds reaching 26mph.

• Saturday, October 19: Sprint Race & Qualifying

There will be sunny intervals and dry weather heading into Saturday's race, with the temperature continuing at 25°C until lights out at 1 pm.

Wind speeds will drop to 22 mph on Saturday, while the temperature rises to 28°C for the crucial qualifying session.

Sunday's race will begin at 2 p.m. local time (CDT), with no rain anticipated and sunshine expected throughout the grand prix.

The temperature will rise to 29°C by the end of the race, with excellent visibility forecast throughout the day.
