Less than two weeks after Hurricane Helene killed over 230 people in the Southeast, another monster hurricane is raging over Florida. Hurricane Milton restrengthens into a Category 5 storm.
President Joe Biden described Hurricane Milton as "the storm of the century" and urged locals to follow evacuation orders. Tropical storm-force winds, torrential rains, and tornadoes swept inland as the powerful hurricane made landfall at Siesta Key in Sarasota County.
Residents fee Tampa Bay area as Milton aims for Florida.
However, it is still expected to be one of the most catastrophic hurricanes on record for Florida's Gulf Coast, and its devastation is already being felt across the state. There are even deaths reported.
