Los Angeles Wildfires Update: Officials Brace for More Powerful Winds
Residents in Los Angeles are bracing for another round of extreme fire risk, with windy Santa Ana winds predicted to intensify again Monday night.
The National Weather Service has warned that strong winds might cause "explosive fire growth," triggering rare, "particularly dangerous situation" red flag warnings for areas of Ventura and Los Angeles counties.
The region remains critically dry and is not expected to see significant rainfall until at least next month.

Authorities say progress is being made to limit the major Palisades and Eaton fires. However, LA County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone warns people to be prepared to follow any evacuation orders.
The fires have killed at least 24 people in what California Governor Gavin Newsom describes as the most destructive natural disaster in US history.

Donald Trump has sharpened his criticism of California's response to the wildfires, with Newsom urging the US president-elect to see the devastation in person.
