A Bomb Cyclone Has Killed at Least Two People & Caused Power Outages
The Northwest is witnessing storm damage and power outages as a result of a bomb cyclone.
Falling trees killed two women in the Seattle suburbs, and two more were injured southeast of the city. In addition, devastating winds knocked out power to hundreds of millions and turned the Pacific Northwest's wooded landscape.
The storm brought gusts of more than 70 mph in some regions and is ushering in an atmospheric river that will bring extreme rain, wind, and snow to parts of the Northwest through Friday.
At least two dead due to a bomb cyclone
Following the bomb cyclone, the region will see days of rain, "life-threatening flooding," and snow at higher elevations from another Pacific storm, the National Weather Service warned Wednesday.
This is part of an "atmospheric river" that may bring up to 16 inches of rain to Northern California and Southwest Oregon, according to the weather service. It is also possible to have rock slides and debris flows.
